The BBB projekt
I call Mo's bike a BBB project, because this is a fact. It is a Beemer Budget Bike project and the intention is to make more with less. It all starts with a BMW R65 basket case , a lot of second hand spares and a heap of scrap metal. How I got into this is quite a story and the plans for the bike also led their own life. But finally we decided the R65 to have a vintage BMW look with the scent of a bobber. Mo gave me a free hand , which is fun, you don't get to chop up a friend's bike every day. Of course, crossing the fairly modern looks of an R65 with those of a /5 and then having it look like a bobberish kind of bike was a challenge. As this is an after hours project, the bike gets his final shape very slowly. Searching the good and best looking part at the best price takes time, adapting it to fit the R65 even more. Luckily I'm not the only one involved, there 's Robby, Robby's dad and of course Mo.
"The making of "photo gallery might inspire you to get into bobbing a boxer, in my opinion it doesn't always have to be a bolt-on job. Be it a Harley V-twin or a BMW boxer it is all but dull. Just be warned , this is not a "how to" manual on cutting up a motorcycle, this is the way I do it and not how you should do it. Be carefull what you modify or cut, and handle your tools in a proper way with adequate protection for you and those around you.
